Trans-Canadian Snowmobile Trail Guide:

The Trans-Canadian Snowmobile Trail was established in 1998 by the CCSO/CCOM through the cooperation of its 12 provincial/territorial snowmobile associations. As North America's first coast-to-coast recreational trail it follows an independent route across the nations snowbelt. The original Trans-Canadian Snowmobile Trail guide was introduced in 2002. Since its introduction, close to 8,000 copies of the guide have been distributed to the snowmobiling public. The trail itself and the guide are the result of several years of volunteer cooperation between snowmobile clubs and their members across Canada. It has been instrumental in the planning and creation of numerous new winter tourism projects across the country.

Present plans indicate that a second, updated printing of the guide will soon be required. Several portions of the present guide will be updated to show changes and improvements to existing snowmobile trails. In addition plans call for additional advertising opportunities to help fund the new improved edition of the guide. The Canadian Council of Snowmobile Organizations continues to seek additional financial support to aid with the continued improvements being made to the trail and to support nation-wide signage and promotion of the trail as a winter tourism attraction.
